The underground crushing stations were re-quired to process 800 thp of Run of Mine,ore for the mine which produces Gold and Copper. The plant equipment consisted of a receiving chute from a newly constructed ore pass,Apron Feeder and primary jaw crusher.This project involved the design, engineering,supply,fabrication and construction management for both underground crushing stations.All design and engineering for mechanical,structural, civil,electrical and instrumentation disciplines was carried out in South Africa, but utilising readily available materials from the Philippines.

American grades of steel designed to Philippines codes of practice and profile sizes were utilised and sourced in the Philippines. However, due to the lack of shop detailing skills in the Philippines, all shop detailing drawings were prepared by SBM Minerals.

By issuing these drawings to small fabrication companies in the Philippines and controlling their quality procedures,it was prossible to produce internationally acceptable steelwork,as required for a project of this nature.

Equipment was sourced from around the world on a best supply basis.The mine site is somewhat remote in the northern part of the Philippines and reansport logistics proved to be quite challenging,as was the physical moving of equipment down the incline shaft to the two sites.The projects was successfully commissioned and is in full operation.
